Spring Gathering

Come join others who are interested in exploring what role education can play in building community and developing the skills we need to address the multiple crises we are facing. During the gathering, people will have a chance to participate in several discussion groups, each focused on a different issue. Potential topics include: critical literacy in an age of misinformation, supporting immigrant students and families, alternatives to carceral models of schooling, teaching and learning in solidarity with Palestine, expanding adult education, and using graphic novels and other forms of text. Each group will look to identify key issues, resources and potential follow-up steps.
People are welcomed to bring fresh food to share and non-perishable food to donate.
We will also be collecting graphic novels and manga to donate to Books Through Bars.
