We will be discussing “The Educated Underclass: Students and Promise of Social Mobility” by Gary Roth (Pluto Press). We understand that not everybody will be able to access a copy of the book, but that is not required to participate.

We will focus on the ways that universities reproduce class hierarchies and are part of the reduction of social mobility. Unlike previous books, the plan is to only spend one night discussing this.
